The Angkor Empire Marathon is always scheduled during the month of August in Siem Reap, Cambodia, offering participants a unique opportunity to run through the breathtaking Angkor Wat temple complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Runners can choose from various distances, including a full marathon (42.195 km), a half marathon (21.1 km), a 10 km race, and a fun run (3 km), with the race starting at 4:30 AM to take advantage of cooler temperatures. The course showcases the stunning scenery of the Angkor region, passing by nearly 40 ancient temples and lush landscapes, making it accessible for runners of all levels. Participants will receive a finisher's medal, event T-shirts, and an e-certificate, while hydration stations will be available every 2 km. Beyond promoting health and fitness, the marathon supports charitable initiatives for disabled individuals and children in Cambodia, blending athletic challenge with cultural immersion for a truly memorable experience.
